The Experimental High Energy Physics Group of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology is deeply associated with the CERN accelerators.

We study the Physics of Elementary Particles.

Experiments study the outcome of collisions of accelerated particles,
observed in detectors.
Experiments and detectors carry a common name.

The group is still moderately involved in two recent experiments:
OPAL, studying electron positron collisions with the LEP collider,
CHORUS, searching for mass oscillations of neutrinos from the SPS proton synchrotron.

and in two current experiments:
ATLAS, due to start shortly, to study proton proton collisions at record energy with the new LHC accelerator,
OPERA, for further search for mass oscillations of neutrinos from the SPS proton synchrotron.

The group has been involved in the CERN RD 46 collaboration for R&D concerning microtracking devices and imaging.
